Drunk security guard nabbed for taking hostage 3 minors, woman in Port Area, Manila
Manila Police District (MPD) operatives arrested a drunk security guard after taking hostage a mother and her three children in Port Area, Manila on Thursday, Nov. 2.

The MPD-Baseco Police Station (PS-13) identified the suspect as Justine Sagun, 33, a resident of Muntinlupa City.
According to authorities, the suspect and two cohorts visited their co-workers who live in an apartment building at the Baseco compound in Port Area.
They were having a drinking session on the fourth floor of the building where his co-workers live and by around 8 a.m., the suspect went down to the second floor and, without any reason, intruded on the house of the victims.

Police identified the mother as Jenelyn Namuag, who was taken hostage together with her three minor children, ages five, two, and one, by the suspect.
They said that during the hostage taking, he allegedly pointed a bladed weapon at the victims so they could not exit their house.
Authorities said the suspect's reason for taking hostage the victims was because he wanted to talk to his siblings.
The police said that his co-workers immediately reported the situation to them.
Prior to the incident, the suspect's drinking buddy said that they noticed that Sagun looked disturbed and that he seemed to have a problem.
They said that the suspect might be wanting for attention to get an opportunity to talk to his siblings.
The responding authorities tried several negotiations to calm him down and asked him to surrender himself peacefully but he refused to listen.
He was arrested after Lt. Col. Emmanuel Gomez saw an opportunity to grab his hands while he was holding the knife.
Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) led by Capt. Leonardo So, the District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB) led by Lt. Col. Crisostomo Ubac, and the District Tactical Motorized Unit (DTMU) led by Lt. Col. Romeo Estabillo also helped in the negotiation.
Authorities confiscated from Sagun a 10-inch-long tactical folded knife.
The suspect is now under the custody of PS-13 and will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 7610, or the Anti-Child Abuse Law, slight illegal detention, and illegal possession of a deadly weapon.
