8 hurt in All Souls' Day bus crash in Quezon

REAL, Quezon – Eight persons were injured when the bus they were riding crashed into a heap of soil on All Souls’ Day in Barangay Kiloloron here.

Police identified the victims as Earl, 18; Dina, 18; Shemiah Iquin, 18; Ronilyn Ruidera, 23; Raquel Velda, 36; Jocelyn Vllamor, 56, and two minors.

Investigation said the MRR Transport Bus was on its way to Manila from this town when the driver, Manuel, 57, lost control of the fast-moving vehicle due to the slippery road.

It wiggled and crashed into a heap of soil on the road shoulder.

Eight passengers were injured and taken to the Claro Memorial District Hospital by rescuers. They are now in stable condition.

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office has contacted the parents of the minor victims and police will file appropriate complaint against the driver.
