Police Lt. Col. Jonathan Robert Rongavilla, Biñan police chief, said a concerned citizen reported a kidnapping incident.

Lawmen mounted a hot-pursuit operation that resulted in the arrest of Tan and Hui and the recovery of a caliber .22 revolver loaded with five bullets and 35 caliber .45 ammunition. Yang was arrested in a follow-up operation in Barangay Tubigan.

The victim, alias “Shoroming,” was abducted in Pasay City on October 30 and held captive in an apartment in Barangay Tubigan. Suspects demanded the 29-year-old victim to negotiate a P1-million ransom and a luxury vehicle.

But Shoroming managed to escape and sought help from residents who reported the incident to the police.

Suspects are in the custody of the Biñan police station and face charges for kidnapping, extortion, grave coercion, and illegal possession of firearms.

Depositar cited the arrest of the suspects.

“The successful arrest of the suspects involved underscores our unwavering commitment to the safety and security of our community. We applaud the swift action of the Biñan Police and the vigilant citizens who aided in this endeavor,” he said.

Justice will be served and we remain resolute in our dedication to ensuring the well-being of our residents regardless of nationality. Together, we continue to make Laguna a safer place for all, he added.
