Cainta municipal gov't suspends office work at 1 p.m. on Nov. 30


Office transactions at the Cainta municipal government will be suspended starting at 1 p.m. on Nov. 30, Thursday.

The office of Mayor Elen Nieto announced on the municipal government’s social media pages that work at the town hall will be suspended as part of the celebration of the Sumbingtik Fiesta 2023.

However, online transactions for real property tax and health certificates will still be accepted via the website, cainta.gov.ph.

The municipal government’s tourism office announced that the municipal grounds will be the venue of the  concert at 7 p.m. on Nov. 30 with local rock band members and singers, including Bamboo, will spice up the night with music at the Sumbingtik Music Festival.

Prior to the work suspension at the municipal hall, Mayor Nieto and the local officials will lead the wreath-laying ceremony at the foot of the monument of Andres Bonifacio outside the municipal building at 8 a.m. in observance of the 160th birth anniversary of the national hero.

The municipal government has announced that road closure will be implemented from 1 p.m. to 12 midnight on Nov. 30 from Ortigas Junction to J. Buenviaje Street.

Also, the office of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., through Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, has earlier declared Dec. 1, 2023 as a special non-working day in the entire Cainta to allow the residents the full opportunity to participate in the activities lined-up for the Sumbingtik Fiesta 2023 and the town’s founding anniversary.

The town is also observing the feast day of its first patron saint, Saint Andrew the Apostle or San Andres Apostol, the saint whose name was also given to Bonifacio.

December 1 also is a special day for the Cainta’s Roman Catholic as the date is observed as the feast day of the town’s another patron saint, the Our Lady of Light, locally referred to as the “Inang Santisima, Birhen ng Cainta or the Mahal na Ina ng Kaliwanagan, Birhen ng Cainta”.

At 6 p.m. on Dec. 1, a Zumba-Aero Marathon will also be held at the municipal grounds.
