5 hurt in Quezon collision


ATIMONAN, Quezon – Five persons were injured in a three-vehicle collision on the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Balubad, this town, on Wednesday afternoon, November 29.

Police identified the victims as Angeles City, Pampanga residents Eugene, 32, driver; his passenger, Zach, a minor; and Romeo, 65; and Ramelito, driver of a rebuilt jitney with license plates DXG-629, and passenger Devino, 59, both from Sariaya, Quezon.

Ramelito and Loreto, a resident of Santa Cruz, Laguna driving a Chinglong dump truck with license plates NET-4666, were bound to Bicol when Loreto's vehicle bumped the rear of the jitney which crossed into the opposite lane and rammed the Toyota Avanza with license plates AEA-6697 driven by Eugene.

Victims were taken by rescue teams to Doña Marta Memorial District Hospital here.

Loreto faces a complaint of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries and damage to property.
