All Filipinos affected by Israel-Hamas war now 'accounted for'; 2nd Pinoy hostage freed — Marcos

President Marcos announced that all Filipinos affected by the ongoing war between Israeli forces and Hamas have now all been "accounted for" following the release of Noralyn Babadilla from Gaza on Nov. 29 (Manila time).

In his X (formerly Twitter) account, the President wrote that Babadilla's release was a welcome development.

"Just days after expressing concern for Noralyn Babadilla's whereabouts, I am very happy to announce that Noralyn is safely back in Israel, becoming the second Filipino released from Gaza," he said on Wednesday, Nov. 29.

"With this positive development, I am pleased to inform the nation that all Filipinos affected by the war have been accounted for," he added.

According to Marcos, he instructed the officials at the Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv to attend to her needs in coordination with Israeli authorities.

The President thanked the Israeli authorities for facilitating the Filipino worker's release and for assisting Filipinos in Israel. He likewise thanked the governments of Egypt and Qatar for their assistance.

"We extend our sincerest gratitude to Israeli authorities for facilitating Noralyn's release and for all ongoing assistance to Filipinos in Israel," he said.

"Our gratitude also goes to Egypt and the State of Qatar for their crucial role in this process over the past several weeks," he added.

On Nov. 25, President Marcos confirmed the release of Filipino national Gelienor “Jimmy” Pacheco, weeks after he was held hostage by the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

Pacheco, 33, was released by the terrorist organization on Nov. 24. He was taken hostage on Oct. 7.

President Marcos has assured Filipinos in Israel and their loved ones in the Philippines that the government will continue monitoring the situation in the war-torn areas and coordinating with international counterparts to ensure their welfare and safety.
