1 dead, 2 hurt as tricycle, truck collide

BACOLOD CITY – A tricycle driver died and his two passengers were injured in a collision with a trailer truck loaded with sugarcane in Barangay Alicante, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, November 28.

Police identified the fatality as Nilo Libo-on, 40, of Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

The truck was on its way from E.B. Magalona to Sagay City when it hit the victims’ tricycle that reportedly overlapped on the opposite lane after avoiding a pedestrian.

Wilma, 30, Libo-on’s sister, and a 27-year-old passenger, both residents of Victorias City, Negros Occidental, were injured.

Libo-on was taken to a hospital where he died while the police took the truck driver into custody.
