Held at the Makati City Hall, the 140 newly-elected officials joined the mass oath-taking ceremonies officiated by the mayor as she expressed her appreciation to them for their dedication and loyalty to Makati and its citizens.

The 10 barangay chairmen who were sworn in by Binay are Romeo Millo (Cembo),  Edgardo Cleofas (Comembo), Thelma Ramirez (East Rembo),  Richard Pasadilla (PP Northside), Kim Abbang (Pembo), Ives Ebrada (Pitogo), Arnold Cruz (Rizal), Eva Omar (South Cembo), Quirino Sarono (PP Southside), and Niño Cunanan (West Rembo).

Meanwhile, the newly-elected SK chairpersons who chose to take their oath before the mayor are Jeanne Paul Cadapan (Cembo), Breanne Peralta (Comembo), Shane Clarence Agoot (East Rembo), Joshua Daniel Espejo (PP Northside), Stump Sison (Pembo), Cris Justin Ramis (Pitogo), Kyla Dorio (Rizal), Gwyneth Bravo (South Cembo), Francis John San Vicente (PP Southside),  and Jeremiah Baniqued (West Rembo).

“We are grateful to these barangay officials who have bravely shown their loyalty and solidarity with the city government of Makati. Their bold move serves to underscore their unwavering trust and confidence in our brand of leadership that has always put a premium on the well-being and quality of life of our Proud Makatizens,” Binay said as she reminded them to serve their constituents to the best of their capabilities, adding that this is the only way to repay the trust and confidence they put in them.

“Our calling is to serve our citizens with the highest standards of good governance and excellent public service. Do your best and work tirelessly to create a better quality of life for everyone you have sworn to serve,” she added.

Last October, the local chief filed an urgent motion for clarification with a prayer for the issuance of a status quo ante order in connection with the jurisdiction of 10 barangays. This motion seeks to maintain a status quo order while waiting for the writ of execution to ensure an orderly transition of services.

Binay filed the petition, together with City Administrator Claro Certeza and City Legal Officer Michael Camiña.

"The status quo order, which is similar to a cease-and-desist order, is an order to maintain the last actual, peaceable, uncontested state of things which preceded the controversy. It was noted in the Urgent Motion that the Supreme Court (SC) has consistently ruled that a “status quo order is warranted in order to promote common good as well as protect the public interest," the city government said in the petition.

“Makati only wants an orderly administration of the Supreme Court decision with the least disruption to the residents and the uninterrupted delivery of basic services in the affected areas," Binay said.

She cited several "alarming and highly confusing incidents” caused by Taguig’s moves to forcibly execute the SC decision without a valid writ of execution which include attempts to enter the premises of a housing project owned by Makati, and forcibly take possession of several school buildings and health centers in the affected barangays.
