Mayor Honey encourages senior citizens to participate in city job fairs

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan encouraged the senior citizens in the city to participate in the city’s job fairs.
"Katawan ninyo lang ang dadalhin niyo (You will only bring yourselves)," the mayor said to senior citizens who are still able-bodied as there are companies who are willing to hire them.
She said senior citizens are welcome at the city job fairs to try their luck and skills through the employment opportunities being offered by the city government through its public employment service office (PESO).
"Malugod po namin kayong iniimbitahan na dalawin po ninyo ang ating mga job fair. Bukas po ito sa inyong lahat at lahat ng kailangan ninyo ay naroon na. Maski po hindi makasulat, ang PESO na po ang magsusulat sa bio-data para sa inyo (We cordially invite you to visit our job fairs. It is open to all of you and everything you need is already there. Even if you can't write, PESO will write the bio-data for you)," the mayor said.
Apart from the job fairs being conducted by the office of PESO Chief Fernan Bermejos, the city government also helps in providing employment through its help desks in every "Kalinga sa Maynila" forum held in certain barangays.
"Kalinga sa Maynila" is a regular forum of the mayor where she brings together the heads of the different departments, offices, and bureaus and listens to their concerns and recommendations without going to the Manila City Hall.
Bermejo assured the convenience of the applicants, especially those who have no devices and internet to apply online.
He said the job fairs supply the needed bio-data sheets, ballpens, a camera, and a printer to capture pictures of the applicants to go with their resumes.
The job fairs, he said, are open for everyone regardless of their educational attainment.
