A Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) warship anchored in Zambales on Monday, Nov. 27, for a four-day goodwill visit.
The Philippine Navy (PN) welcomed delegates from the RMN led by Vice Adm. Dato’ Pahlawan Hj Muhammad Ruzelme, commander of their Eastern Fleet, onboard KD Kedah (FF171), an offshore patrol vessel, during a port visit at Rivera Wharf in Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
Also accompanying them was fast patrol craft KD Todak (3506).
"This visit aims to sustain the already-strong bilateral relations between the Philippines and Malaysia founded on both countries’ commitment to maritime security and cooperation in the region," said Lt. Giovanni Badidles, director of PN Fleet public affairs office.
During their stay, the Malaysian delegates will make shipboard tour exchange, reciprocal receptions, and pay a courtesy visit on the PN leadership before a Passing Exercise (PASSEX) that will conclude their visit.
"These interactions not only contribute to building trust and cooperation among nations but also provide opportunities for respective navies to show capabilities and share best practices in carrying out mandates in support of regional security and stability," Badidles noted.
