Girl drowns in Batangas beach

SAN JUAN, Batangas – A nine-year-old girl drowned in a beach here on Sunday, November 26.

Police identified the victim as Criza Gonzalez, an elementary pupil and resident of Barangay Calit-calit, this town.

Gonzalez went missing while she was swimming with her grandmother Nilda at about 4:30 p.m.

A search and rescue operation was conducted by the Philippine Coast Guard and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) but to no avail.

The victim was found on Monday morning, November 27, on the shore of Barangay Putingbuhangin, this town, by her family.
