Cops arrest man for stealing motorcycle in QC

Operatives of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Payatas Bagong Silangan Station (PS 13) arrested a man after he allegedly stole a motorcycle in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City on Nov. 28.

Police identified the suspect as Archie Miguel Basa, 21, a resident of Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.

Based on the police report, the complainant, Reymark Bical Paglinawan, discovered that his motorcycle parked in front of their house at Lower Everlasting St., Barangay Payatas, Quezon City was missing at around 5 a.m. on Nov. 27.

He later reviewed the closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage in that area, which revealed that his motorcycle was stolen by two unidentified men.

He immediately reported the incident to PS 13 operatives who immediately conducted a follow-up operation at 1 a.m. on Nov. 28. on Pinagkaisa St. in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.

Basa was apprehended by the police after a witness positively identified him as one of the suspects.

According to the QCPD Public Information Office (PIO), the victim's motorcycle was not recovered.

The suspect will be charged for violation of Republic Act 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016, while a manhunt operation has been launched for his cohort, police said.
