CAVITE – Authorities arrested five men for alleged illegal fishing in Naic on Monday, Nov. 27.

Cavite Police Provincial Office identified the suspects as alias Jomar, alias Luis Philip, alias Nofiel, alias Jerome, and alias Joselito.

The joint operation of Naic Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the Bantay Dagat of the local government unit (LGU) collared the suspects who were caught fishing within the no-fishing zone using a trawl with active fishing gear.

Authorities found a bucket of scabbard fish (espada) and slipmouth fish (sapsap) in the suspects' fishing boats.

Naic MPS has already coordinated with the LGU regarding the fines and penalties to be imposed on the suspects.
