Malaysian arrested for kidnapping, other crimes in Pasay City
A 30-year-old Malaysian national was arrested after his Chinese female victim was able to escape and shout for help from patrolling policemen in Pasay City on Nov. 21.

The police identified the suspect as Kevin Co Tan, a resident of Chateau Residence, Parañaque City.
Tan is now detained at the Pasay City police custodial facility and was charged with kidnapping, serious illegal detention, robbery, and physical injury.
Investigation showed that the victim, a Chinese tourist, arrived in the Philippines and stayed at Okada Hotel and Casino, Parañaque City.
The police said the victim reportedly lost a lot of money while gambling at the casino and was approached by the suspect who persuaded her to transfer to another casino.
The suspect instead brought the victim to a hotel in Pasay City where she was detained and physically abused. The suspect also demanded her to produce P1,640,000.
The suspect also took the victim’s iPhone 14 worth P40,000 and her Omega watch worth P80,000.
