The General Santos International Airport has upgraded its boarding bridges and the passenger terminal building (PTB) in order to accommodate more passengers, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.
CAAP Director-General Manuel Anotnio Tamayo said the improvement is part of the modernization of the General Santos International Airport.
He said the airport with its upgraded facilities has already opened.
"As additional lounge space is available for departing passengers on the second floor, these new boarding bridges allow for easier passenger circulation between the terminal and the aircraft," Tamayo said.
Present during the formal opening were Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista,Saerangani Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta of Sarangani Province and several airline executives.
