'Amihan' to bring light rains, cold mornings to parts of PH
The northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” may bring light rains and cold mornings, especially in Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday morning, Nov. 27.
In its 4 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light rains may prevail over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light amihan rains may also persist in Ilocos Region, Abra, and Benguet.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Based on the PAGASA’s extended weather outlook for key areas from Nov. 28 to Dec. 1, minimum air temperatures will range from 23 to 24 degrees Celsius (℃) in Metro Manila, 16℃ in Baguio City, 23 to 24℃ in Laoag City, 21 to 22℃ in Tagaytay City, 26℃ in Metro Cebu, 25℃ in Metro Davao, 23 to 24℃ in Valencia City, and 24 to 25℃ in Zamboanga City.
The lowest temperature ever recorded in Baguio City was 6.3℃ on Jan. 18, 1961.
PAGASA predicts cold surges between December and February, when the northeast monsoon season is at its peak.
