4 Persons of Interest in Cebu City pawnshop robbery in police custody
CEBU CITY – Police have taken four persons into custody as Persons of Interest (POIs) in the robbery of a pawnshop here on Saturday, November 25.
Lawmen recovered a vehicle believed to have been used as a getaway vehicle by the robbers.
The vehicle, a red Honda City sedan, was intercepted in Sibonga town, southern Cebu around 4 a.m. on Monday, November 27, Police Col. Ireneo Dalogdog said in a press briefing.

The vehicle was intercepted during a province-wide dragnet operation in Barangay Lamacan, at least 50 kilometers away from Colon St. here where the Oro Sugbo Pawnshop and Jewelry Store is located.
The vehicle had two passengers who are among the four individuals considered as POIs.
Various firearms were recovered from the car.
The Mandaue City Police Office has arrested two persons in relation to the robbery where an estimated P4 million to P5 million worth of jewelry was stolen.
Dalogdog said the car was identified as a possible getaway vehicle when one of the suspects was captured by a security camera boarding the vehicle on their way to escape.
After the robbery, the armed robbers escaped on board separate motorcycles and one of them later transferred to a red Honda City sedan.
The car only bore a For Registration plate when it was intercepted.
Dalogdog said the presence of various security camera footages proved vital in tracking down the robbers.
The POIs have also been cooperative in the investigation, said Dalogdog.
“It’s easy to track down the personalities involved based on the information that were given by those who are in our custody. They are very cooperative,” said Dalogdog.
Dalogdog refused to disclose the identities of the POIs pending follow-up operations.
The robbers appeared professionals and well-trained in handling firearms based on the manner that the robbery was carried out, Dalogdog said.
