Thousands march in Manila to denounce violence in Gaza

More than 2,000 people gathered at Rizal Park, Ermita, Manila on Saturday, Nov. 25, to denounce the violence in Gaza, as civilian casualties brought by attacks of Israel continue to increase.
"March for Just Peace in Palestine" is a three-kilometer march organized by the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) along with Bagong Alyansang Makabayan, the Philippines-Palestine Friendship Association, Moro civic groups and churches, and other nonprofit organizations.
"For more than a month now, Israel has waged a brutal war against the Palestinian people living in Gaza. We have seen in real-time the non-stop bombings and air strikes, including that of hospitals and refugee camps, the denial of humanitarian aid and basic services like electricity, water, internet communications, fuel and even food," ILPS expressed.
The march began in front of Kilometer-0 along Roxas Boulevard and ended at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) grounds.
According to ILPS, the genocide will intensify as Israel's ground invasion strides, threatening to engulf not only neighboring countries in the Middle East but the entire world.
It said more than 11,200 Palestinians have been reported killed, 4,600 of them were children and 3,100 were women.
The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) noted that 700,000 children have been forced to relocate and "leave everything behind."
"Through this act of solidarity, we are calling for a stop to the genocide and for a just peace in Palestine. We support calls for a ceasefire and the lifting of the siege of Gaza so that much-needed humanitarian aid and services can freely enter and reach its residents," the protesters said.
The groups urged the national governments and all parties to seriously address the grievances and basic needs of the Palestinian people against the "unjust colonization" and occupation of their lands.
Meanwhile, ILPS called for donations for humanitarian action for Filipino-Palestinian refugees from Gaza.
