Rain or Shine is mulling a change of import amid the team's rebounding woes and lackluster defense during its four-game losing streak to open the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Elasto Painters coach Yeng Guiao pointed out his team was being beaten black-and-blue inside the paint in their first four games – something that he is attributing to as the cause of the current winless run.

"Sa apat na talo namin, apat yung talo namin sa rebounding stats," said the fiery tactician, whose Rain or Shine got outrebounded by Ginebra, 57-42, the last time.

It was a glaring stat that could have changed the complexion of the game, especially a close one like the 107-102 loss to the Kings.

Aside from that, the interior defense also seems to be another thing that is lacking for Rain or Shine.

"We're minus 15 rebounds, and then minus 30 points in the paint," said Guiao as Rain or Shine lost 58-38 in that department.

"Wala kaming inside presence defensively. So if you're negative 30 sa points in paint, ibig sabihin nag-piyesta yung kalaban mo sa loob ng paint. So nasan kayo, nasaan yung mga big men, nasaan yung import, nasaan ang depensa mo? Bakit -30 ka at +30 ang kalaban mo inside the paint," he added.

Import Dajuan Summers finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds but his 4-of-14 clip from deep suggests that he played more from outside allowing guys like Christian Standhardinger, Japeth Aguilar and import Tony Bishop to lord over the paint battle.

"I think that's one thing we need to solve, personnel-wise. Kung import makakatulong sa amin, then kailangan namin pag-desisyunan yung sa import," said Guiao.

"Sa locals, wala na kaming magagawa dun sa personnel namin, but we can try to emphasize that in practice," he added.

Despite the four losses, Rain or Shine is still very much in contention for the playoff spot but it needs to finally start winning to get the five victories and give itself a chance.
