LTO suspends driver's license of truck driver in fatal road accident in Pampanga
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has ordered a 90-day preventive suspension on the driver’s license of a truck driver involved in a road accident in Proac, Pampanga that left four minor siblings dead.
LTO chief Vigor D. Mendoza II said a Show Cause Order was already issued against the truck driver by the LTO-Central Luzon which ordered the driver, identified in a police report as Rodrigo Palma, Jr., to explain in writing why he should not be sanctioned over the incident.
In a police report, Palma said he did not notice the tricycle that was on the middle road as it is waiting for its turn to turn left on its way to the house of the victims.
Based on the report, the “kolong-kolong” tricycle used loading materials) was hit by the truck driven by Palma at around 10:30 p.m. on November 22 in Porac-Angeles Road Brgy. Manibaug Pasig in Porac town.
As a result, the kolong-kolong occupied the opposite side of the road which led to the tricycle being hit by a dump truck.
Two of the children died on the spot while the two others succumbed to serious injuries in a hospital.
