DOH to conduct 24th World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation conference
The Department of Health (DOH) said on Sunday, Nov. 26 that the 24th Annual Conference of the World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation will be held in conjunction with the digitalization of mental health information in order to "reach the unreached."

The conference will be held at Richmond Hotel in Ortigas on Nov. 27 to 28.
DOH highlighted that the digitalization of mental health information supports the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Mental Health, which it launched in October.
It said the conference will also tackle the recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Framework for Mental Health in the Western Pacific region 2023-2030, advising member-states to refocus, transform, and embed mental health in every area of national policies.
“The WHO Regional Framework states that the transformation requires a responsive information system—mental health support and care into a community-based ecosystem of health and social services and innovations, enabled by an expanded and well-trained mental health workforce comprising specialists, non-specialists and social networks, delivering the full range of interventions, and underpinned by a responsive information system that drives impact,” the DOH said.
The event will be led by Dr. Noel Reyes, Chief Medical Officer of the National Center for Mental Health, Dr. Anil Thapliyal, Executive Director of the eMental Health International Collaborative (eMHIC), Dr. Andy Greenshaw, Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience of the University of Alberta, Dr. Romulo De Castro, Executive Director of Center for Informatics of the University of San Agustin in Iloilo, Dr. Jan Llevado, Chief of the Cancer Control and Mental Health Division of the Department of Health, and Ms. Lucy Lazo of World Association for Psycho Social Rehabilitation.
