68 motorists apprehended for driving vehicles with expired registration in QC, Caloocan operations
Enforcers of the Land Transportation Office-National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) have apprehended 68 motorists for driving unregistered motor vehicles amid the implementation of the “No Registration, No Travel” policy.
LTO-NCR Regional Director Roque Verzosa III said the 68 violators were among the 724 motorists apprehended for various offenses in a week-long operation of the agency in Quezon City and Caloocan City.
Among the other violations committed were failure to use seatbelt; use of illegal sirens, blinkers and horns; and vehicles with defective accessories.
The LTO has been implementing the “No Registration, No Travel” policy afte the agency's data revealed that 65 percent of motor vehicles in the country have expired registration.
LTO chief Vigor Mendoza III has already ordered all regional directors to intensify the conduct of operations against delinquent motor vehicles.
