They each received newly constructed houses during the turnover led by Gov. Aris Aumentado, BPPO chief Police Col. Lorenzo Batuan, and Catigbian Mayor Elizabeth Mandin-Pace.

The beneficiaries were Mateo and Nita Calapuan from Barangay Mahayag Norte Ariel and Arlyn from Barangay Maitum.

Barangay Maitum Captain Virgilio Lanoy said Ariel and Arlyn were chosen as beneficiaries of the program through Aumentado.

Lanoy said the governor was in Maitum to visit the wake of a suspected member of the New People’s Army.

While in the barangay, Aumentado saw Ariel and Arlyn living in a shanty.

Aumentado endorsed the couple to the BPPO as beneficiaries of the LAB project. He said the house donated to the couple was worth P126,000.

A total of 10 houses have been donated to various beneficiaries under the LAB project.

Aumentado and his wife, Bohol Rep. Vanessa Aumentado, had donated P210,000 to support the BPPO project for three beneficiaries.

The project is in line with the Kasimbayanan (Kapulisan, Simbahan, at Pamayanan) program of the Philippine National Police.
