MAUBAN, Quezon – Fifteen passengers were injured when the van they were riding in plunged into a creek on the Mauban-Sampaloc Road, Barangay Concepcion, this municipality, on Saturday morning, November 25.

Police identified the victims as Pasig City residents Joane Santos, 38; Christopher Santos, 44; Marianne Geronimo, 49; Margerry Geronimo, 27; Devine Louielyn Halcon, 23; Josephine Paz, 40; Julieta Santos Razo, 47; Mckayla, minor; Joseph Galo Santos, 37; Lavla Santos, 36; Janella, minor; Delia Santos, 36; Christian, minor; Maria Cristina, also a minor; and Joselito Reyes Cruz, 55, all residents of Pasig City.
Investigation said driver Jonathan, 44, of Lucena City, suddenly lost control of the steering wheel of the passenger van which was on its way to the town proper and ended up on a creek beside the road.
Victims sustained minor injuries and were brought to the Mauban District Hospital.
The victims told police that the driver fell asleep while driving and lost control of the vehicle.
Jonathan faces a case of multiple physical injuries but he and the victims agreed to an amicable settlement.
