Stray Kids, Cha Eun-woo, Bright Vachirawit, The Boyz win at 2023 Video Music Awards Japan

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards Japan (MTV VMAJ) ceremony was held on Nov. 23 at the K Arena Yokohama in Japan. 

The performers included BE:FIRST, Thai actor-singer Bright Vachirawit, Korean actor Cha Eun-woo and K-pop idol group The Boyz.

The Video of the Year award went to Mrs. Green Apple’s “Que Sera Sera. 

Stray Kids won the Best Group Video (International) for “Case 143.” Korean actor Cha Eun-woo bagged the Globe Icon Award. 

Bright Vachirawit won the Best Asia Celebrity, becoming the first Thai artist to take home the award at VMAJ. 

The Boyz bagged the Best Asia Group while K-pop girl group NewJeans won the Best Buzz Award. 

Meanwhile, a stabbing incident happened at K Arena Yokohama, the venue of VMAJ on Nov. 23. 

According to The Japan Times, a woman in her 40s was stabbed at about 5:30 p.m. 

“There was an emergency call at around 5:45 p.m. saying that a woman in her 40s had been stabbed by someone, according to local fire officials. She was taken to a hospital and is believed to be seriously injured,” according to the report.
