A lotto patron participating since the inception of Lotto 6/42 in 1995 has finally claimed his long-awaited triumph after winning the jackpot prize.

In a social media post on Saturday, Nov. 25, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced that a retired Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) winner claimed his jackpot prize after correctly guessing the Lotto 6/42 winning numbers: 25-10-14-17-19-42 on Sept. 21 draw.

PCSO pointed out that despite his tenure as an OFW abroad, the lone winner remained committed to his passion, continuing to participate in digit games.

The 65-year-old resident from Pasig City revealed to the PCSO that the lucky digits worth P21,966,450.20 are from the birthdates of his relatives.

Furthermore, he informed the PCSO that he had previously secured a second-prize win by matching five of the six winning combinations in the same PCSO game in 2018.
This inch away from winning accomplishment heightened his excitement, motivating him to continue playing until he eventually seized the coveted jackpot.
After claiming the jackpot prize on Oct. 24 at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City, the winner shared with the agency his plans to invest in business ventures, provide educational assistance to family members pursuing their studies, and bolster his savings.
Moreover, PCSO emphasized that jackpot prizes of more than P10,000 are subject to 20 percent final tax under the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion Law or TRAIN Law, as per PCSO.
Winners must claim their jackpot prizes within one year from the draw date, or else these will be forfeited and become part of the PCSO Charity Fund.
The agency also reminds future claimants that the "claiming process requires winners to write their names and provide their signatures on the back of the winning ticket while presenting two (2) government-issued IDs."
