Parañaque LGU joins celebration of Philippine Kimchi Festival
The Parañaque city government joined in the celebration of the Philippine Kimchi Festival, a nationwide fete honoring the traditional Korean side dish.
The Philippine Kimchi Festival was held at the Korean Union Church of Manila, Multinational Village, Brgy. Moonwalk, Parañaque City on Nov. 22.
The city government led by Mayor Eric Olivarez and first Congressional District Office of Rep. Edwin Olivarez was invited to join in the festivities.
Congressman Edwin was represented by his Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Eva Nono while Mayor Eric was represented by his Special Services Office OIC Majel Co. They shared a message of comradership during the event.
Nono and Majel were immersed in Korean culture and tradition through the kimchi-making activities led by Korean chef Lee Ha-rin and Asst. Chef Kim Ta-sol.
According to Nono, the festival was held to honor and promote the solidarity of the Korean Filipino community.
The festival was organized by event host Southern Korean Association led by Pres. Shin Ho-cheol along with officials from Mango Scholarship, Manila Korean United Church and Korean Association of the Philippines.
