Making a significant impact on the OPM scene, Aegis has become a fan favorite for karaoke vibes among Filipinos because of their heart-wrenching and relatable lyrics.

Having been in the industry for almost 25 years, Aegis is still one of the powerhouse rock bands in the Philippines. During their grand media conference at the theater in Solaire on Nov. 20, the band shared what has kept their group intact since 1998.

"Siguro para sa akin, since magkakapatid kaming tatlo, kailangan talaga yung bigayan, tsaka yung Big R, respeto, at mahabang pasensya kasi kailangan namin yung isa't-isa kaya ayan yung nagpapatagal sa amin bilang isang groupo," Juliet said (main vocals of Aegis)

(I think that since we are three siblings, we really need to give way with each other, of course, the Big R, respect, and patience because we need each other, so that's what makes us last as a group).

The band also shared that they are still active on the music scene because the Pinoy fans are still hooked on their songs.

"Nararamdam namin na gusto pa kami ng mga tao, kasi hanggang ngayon kapag may gigs kami nararamdamn namin na masaya sila, habang nandyan sila, andito pa rin yung banda namin," Rowena Pinpin said (Aegis's bass player)

(We feel that people still like us because until now, when we have gigs, we feel that they are happy; while they are there, our band is still here.)

Known for their iconic songs Halik, Luha, Sayang na Sayang, and another holiday favorite, Christmas Bonus, Aegis only guy member Rey Abenoja shared the reason behind the successful Christmas song.

"Actually yung brother and yung partner niya yung nagsulat nung kanta, nagsimula lang sila bumuo ng tono at nagtuloy-tuloy na. Actually hindi ko nga alam kung anong pressence niya, pero siguro dahil tradition na siya sa mga pilipino parang ayun na lang naging way nung kanta," Rey said.

(Actually, my brother and his partner wrote the song. They just started building the tone and continued. I don't know what kind of presence the song has, but maybe because it's a tradition among Filipinos. That's how the song came to be.)

In celebrating their milestone in the music industry, Aegis will be having a holiday concert dubbed the "AEGIS: The Christmas Bonus Concert." the year-end celebration aims to showcase the career-spanning legacy of the powerhouse band and its signature anthems that touched many people's lives on a personal level.

Aside from the group's soul-stirring performances, the highly anticipated show will also feature diamond-selling artist Jose Mari Chan as one of the guests.

Known for his beloved classics and Christmas-themed repertoire, the recording superstar and business mogul will be performing a surprise set that will light up the mood of the evening's holiday show.

Adding a more intricate take on the best-selling pop group's rock-flavored, ballad-heavy catalog, The Manila String Machine is set to capture the spirit of the holidays with an 'AEGIS' collaboration that every music fan shouldn't miss.
