The city government of Pasay announced that its coastal development project will resume after President Marcos Jr. exempted the Pasay Eco-City Coastal Development from the suspension imposed on reclamation projects in the country.
Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the project was compliant with its Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) and the terms and conditions of its Area Clearance (AC) following a thorough scrutiny.
She said the project was also deemed compliant with Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) parameters pursuant to Executive Order No. 74 Series of 2023 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations; PRA Administrative Order (AO) No. 2019-4, including its transitory provision under Section 14, and the Memoranda of Agreement between PRA and Pasay City.
The mayor added the lifting of suspension is a most welcome development as it will pave way for the resumption of development activities with the end-goal of helping further boost the economy and providing the needed revenue to the government.
