Teen dies, 5 others injured in Negros motorcycle collision

BACOLOD CITY - An 18-year-old died while his five companions were wounded after their motorcycles collided and overshot into a vacant lot in Purok Tahanan, Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, November 22.

Police withheld the names of the fatality and the five wounded victims, all of whom are students aged 15 to 23.

Police Lt. Hanna Mesheil Banquil, deputy chief of Sagay City Police Station, said the victims were reportedly under the influence of liquor when they were allegedly speeding on their way home.

Banquil said the victims were tailing each other when the accident happened. 

She said the three female victims were discharged from the hospital, while the two motorcycle drivers are confined at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here.

She said the family of the teenage boy has decided not to press charges against the motorcycle drivers.
