Cloudy skies, rain showers to prevail across parts of PH this weekend — PAGASA
Several parts of the country may experience cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms this weekend, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Friday, Nov. 24.
Scattered light to heavy rains may affect Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Caraga due to the easterlies and shear line—a weather system formed by the convergence of cold northeasterly winds and warm easterly winds.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods and landslides in these areas, particularly during moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” may bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands, Isabela, and Quirino.
Ilocos Region, Batanes, and Nueva Vizcaya may also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the amihan.
PAGASA said the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers caused by the easterlies or localized thunderstorms.
The public is advised to be vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
