The two giant Christmas trees at the intersection of J. Vargas and San Miguel Avenues at the Pasig Central Business District (CBD) in Barangay San Antonio (BSA) was lit up to warmly welcome the Christmas season on Wednesday, Nov. 22.

Gracing the lighting ceremony, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto expressed the local government's gratitude and support to the business and private sectors, and the Ortigas Center Association Incorporated (OCAI).
"Espesyal ang Ortigas, unlike other central business districts in other places in the country, ang Ortigas ho ay hindi lang isang lungsod kundi tatlong lungsod so it is also fitting for the Christmas season lagi nating pinag-uusapan hindi lang ang kasiyahan kundi ang pagkakaisa —unity, pagmamahalan (Ortigas is special because unlike other CBDs, Ortigas is home to three cities. So it is fitting for us to always talk about unity and love alongside happiness for the Christmas season," Sotto said.
The mayor added that the city will continue moving forward as it recovers from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
BSA Chairman Raymond Lising said the annual Christmas lighting tradition "brings the community closer" and "reminds every resident of the spirit of Christmas".
"In the spirit of Christmas, we wish everyone a happy holidays. Kami ay nagpapasalamat na through the years ay naging maganda ang ating samahan," he remarked.
Pasig Vice Mayor Robert "Dodot" Jaworski Jr. and other officials from Mandaluyong and Quezon Cities, as well as the OCAI were also present.
