The active volcano in Batangas logged 66 volcanic tremors lasting one to five minutes on Nov. 23, up from 48 on Nov. 22.

Phivolcs also said the sulfur dioxide emission averaged 4,991 tons per day as of Nov. 20.

It observed a "moderate" emission of plume 1,000-meter-high, before drifting southwest.

Taal Volcano is still on Alert Level 1, which means it is experiencing low-level unrest.

The public is warned of possible hazards that can occur, including steam-driven or phreatic or gas-driven explosions, volcanic earthquakes, minor ashfall, and lethal accumulations or expulsions of volcanic gas.

Entry into Taal Volcano Island, which is a permanent danger zone, particularly the Main Crater and Daang Kastila fissures, as well as occupancy and boating on Taal Lake, are all prohibited, Phivolcs advised.
