Nagalit si Magalit: SUV rams motorcycle taxi in Mandaluyong; rider, passenger hurt
An Angkas motorcycle taxi rider and his passenger were injured after a sports utility vehicle (SUV) sideswiped them while cruising along the southbound lane of EDSA-Santolan in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday, Nov. 22.

In a viral dashcam video uploaded on social media, the suspect and driver of an orange Suzuki XL7 with plate number NEM 7804, later identified as Pedro Magalit, was seen having a verbal altercation with the motorcycle rider and his passenger while traveling along the area when Magalit suddenly sideswiped and hit the motorcycle before speeding away.
The rider has already been discharged from the Mandaluyong City Hospital while his passenger is still confined in another hospital in Pasig City. Both of them suffered injuries.
Eastern Police District (EPD) Director PBGen. Wilson Asueta confirmed on Thursday, Nov. 23, that the suspect has been placed under police custody. Charges are being readied to be filed against him.
Ride hailing company Angkas had previously offered a reward for anyone who can provide information on Magalit prior to his arrest by the police.
It said that it will also file a separate set of charges against the suspect for endangering the life of their employee and his passenger.
