Fireworks explode, kill woman inside firecracker factory in Bulacan

A female firecracker factory worker died after the "kwitis" or firework she was making exploded on Wednesday, Nov. 22, in Barangay Bunlo, Bocaue, Bulacan.
Police identified the victim as Rizza Austria Villanueva, 45 years old, a resident of Sitio Bihunan, Barangay Bunlo, and a widow with four children.
The victim was an employee of Fireworks Trading Miracles owned by a certain Fe Camantang at Sitio Dam.
Based on initial investigation by the police, the victim was making "kwitis" or Baby Rockets when they accidentally exploded.
The victim was brought by the Bocaue Rescue team to the Bulacan Medical Center in the City of Malolos for medical treatment but was later pronounced dead by attending physician Dr.Noel Balmoja Jr. due to severe blasting injury
The victim reportedly bore serious injuries in different parts of her body including a broken leg.
The Bocaue police immediately conducted an ocular investigation, follow-up, and coordination with the Bulacan Police Laboratory Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Barangay Officials of Bunlo.
