Faithful invited to ‘Visita Maria’ at the Manila Cathedral


The festivities for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception at the Manila Cathedral (Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception) in Intramuros, Manila will open with the Visita Maria of the Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal from the Museo ng Medalya Milagrosa of the Philippine Province of the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentian Fathers and Brothers).

“With hearts grateful to our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, for her untiring intercession through which we receive the manifold graces from her Son, and in thanksgiving most especially for the end of the Covid -19 pandemic, let us once again come together to honor her as we mark her feast day with the annual Visita Maria at the Manila Cathedral,” organizers said.

The procession to the Manila Cathedral will be held on Nov. 26, Sunday, at 4:30 p.m. Welcome rites and a holy mass to be officiated by Rev. Fr. Vicente Gabriel Bautista will be held at 6 p.m. to be followed by the exhibit launch.

On Nov. 27, Monday, the Solemnity of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, the feast day mass will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Rolando Limjoco at 12:10 p.m.

On Tuesday, Nov. 28, the feast day of St. Catherine Laboure, a rosario cantada will be held at 5 p.m. to be followed by farewell rites and a motorcade to the Marian Center.

Meanwhile, the Manila Cathedral is inviting the faithful to join the novena for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception on Nov. 29 to Dec. 7.  

Other fiesta activities include the 42nd Intramuros Grand Marian Procession on Dec. 3 and the Liturgical Feast of the Dedication of the Manila Cathedral on Dec. 11.

On Dec. 8, feast day masses will be celebrated at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 12:10 p.m., 4 p.m., and at 6 p.m.
