Woman nabbed for stealing piggy bank with P700,000 in Rizal

A 42-year-old woman was arrested by barangay officials and officers of the Binangonan Rizal Police on Tuesday, Nov. 21, for stealing her sister-in-law's piggy bank containing over P700,000 cash.

According to the police report, the suspect identified as "Ona" was arrested after her sister-in-law's child caught her forcefully opening the victim's room in their house in Barangay Pag Asa and took away her piggy bank with the money in it.

This prompted the victim, "Leen", to report the incident to the barangay officials where they caught "Ona" walking. "Leen" and the officials confronted the suspect and recovered from her P160,000 in cash.

The suspect was then brought to the barangay hall and was later transferred to the Binangonan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

"Ang agarang pagkakaaresto sa suspek ay isang halimbawa ng pagtutulungan ng komunidad at pulisya. Nananawagan kami sa ating mga kabababayan na huwag magatubiling lumapit sa ating mga kapulisan upang humingi ng tulong para sa mabilisang aksyon.
