Look! What is this 11-meter-gingerbread house made of?
200 kilos of icing!

The confectionary wonder stands 11-meters tall, made out of 2,100 pieces of gingerbread tiles intricately designed by Newport World Resorts (NWR) executive pastry chef Ariel Reyes, chef de partie Jovelyn Adra, and pastry chef de cuisine Alfredo Sacbayana Jr. as lead dessert architects. The culinary team made sure to pack the wondrous structure with plenty of sweetness, particularly 200 kilos of icing sugar that magically turned into glistening snow.
Making the most out of the happiest season, 60 kilograms of fondant, a generous sprinkling of chocolate, candy canes, and even pasta transformed the house into a home of playful whimsy.
The confectionary committee of Chef Arel, Chef Jovelyn, and Chef Alfredo with Newport World Resorts director for corporate communications Joee Guilas invited adorable siblings, Pepe and Pilar, with Korina Sanchez-Roxas to put the finishing touches to the Yuletide Gingerbread House. A true feast for the senses, inside are shelves filled with sweet treats such as a Small Chocolate Snowman, Santa on Scooter, and Chocolate Boot with Truffles made especially by the Garden Wing Cafe for the jolly holly season.
There are also an assortment of delectable pastries to bring home including a Big Gingerbread House and this year’s staple NWR Christmas Fruit Cake. Be sure to come by the Yuletide Gingerbread House at GF Newport Garden Wing until Jan. 6, 2024.
