The Las Piñas City government celebrated the Elderly Filipino Week with a thanksgiving mass and seniors' night on Nov. 16 at the Verdant covered court in Pamplona Tres.
According to Mayor Imelda Aguilar, the celebration, which carried the theme “Honoring the Invaluable Legacy of Filipino Senior Citizens,” was prepared by the City social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) in coordination with the Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA).
Aguilar said the activity showcased the city’s commitment to recognizing and appreciating the contributions of its senior population.
Vice Mayor April Aguilar emphasized the importance of senior citizens in the fabric of the community, praising their enduring contributions and the wisdom they bring to society.
She also reiterated the city government's commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the elderly through various initiatives and programs.
The vice-mayor said the celebration not only paid tribute to the legacy of the Filipino seniors but also strengthened the community spirit within Las Piñas City.
She said the city, under the mayor’s leadership, pledged to continue supporting and honoring its senior citizens, ensuring their invaluable contributions remain a part of the city's culture and community.
