CEBU CITY—Two Korean nationals were arrested they were caught engaging in online streaming of sexual activities.
Tae Young Han, 51, and Yunyeong Kim, 28, were arrested at their condominium unit in Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City on Sunday night, Nov. 19.
The operation was conducted by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation- Cebu District Office (NBI-CEBDO).
During the operation, Kim and a Filipino woman were caught performing lewd acts while Han acted as the videographer.
The Koreans arrived in the country in September last year. They only possessed tourist visas, said NBI-CEBDO Agent-in-charge Arnel Pura.
Pura said the Korean nationals would livestream sexual activities between Korean men and Filipino women.
The lewd acts can be viewed through a Korean mobile application exclusive to paying subscribers.
For their subscribers to watch the live streaming, a membership fee and a streaming fee will be collected.
The suspects brought women, including minors, to their condominium unit for the lewd live streaming.
Those who agreed to perform lewd acts were paid P5,000 each.
Several equipment that were used for livestreaming were seized.
The Koreans will be charged for violation of Republic Act 1182 or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022, Pura said.
