Sta. Ana Hospital (SAH) in Manila received P2.7 million worth of computer workstations from La Filipina Uy Gongco (LFUGC) on Monday, Nov. 21.

LFUGC is an agribusiness, livestock, and food company committed to providing world-class agriculture products. It is known as the largest importer and distributor of US soybean meal in Asia.

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan accepted the donation on behalf of SAH. She acknowledged the support of the private sector to the city-run hospital, which she said will greatly help in the day-to-day operations of the hospital.

The mayor also cited that LFUGC had been extending its support since the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

She said that during the pandemic, SAH employees received a constant supply of bread and emergency room dividers for Covid-19 patients from LFUGC.

Meanwhile, SAH director Dr. Grace Padilla said that the initiative will significantly enhance the hospital's streamlined patient care and will enable SAH to provide better quality healthcare services to the Manileños in this day of digital age.

"La Filipina Uy Gongco Corporation’s donation is not just a gift of technology, but a gift of hope, progress, and a brighter future for the people of Manila. This generous gesture demonstrates the power of collaboration between the private sector and the local government, and how, together, we can achieve remarkable milestones," Padilla added.
