Newly-opened farm-to-market road in Ilagan City to boost local economy


CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela – The Department of Public Works and Highways in Region 2 has completed a farm-to-market road (FMR) project along barangays Sta. Isabel to Carikkikan in this city.

The Isabela First District Engineering Office said the project  that commenced on June 22, 2023 was funded with P11.9 million under the General Appropriations Act of 2023. 

The project scope includes concrete paving and construction of slope protection structures. 

This will  provide convenience to farmers and residents in transporting their produce and goods to the market.

President Marcos has ordered the prioritization of farm-to-market road projects to benefit local farmers and to ensure the smooth flow of goods and services. 

District Engineer Deoferio P. Vehemente, Jr. said the newly-paved road will boost the livelihood of local residents.
