Muntinlupa LGU assists fire victims in Alabang


The Muntinlupa City government provided assistance to 17 families affected by a fire that hit a residential area in Alabang on Nov. 18. 

On Nov. 21, Mayor Ruffy Biazon visited the families affected by the fire, which started at about 10:30 p.m. Biazon said based on a report, the fire started from a lit candle.

He said several residents were brought to the hospital. A child was also thrown out from the window of a burning house to save his life while a mom was injured when a burning piece of wood fell on her arm. 

“Thankfully, walang fatalities at ligtas ang mga buhay ng mga residente ng Wawa (Thankfully, there were no fatalities and the lives of the residents are safe),” Biazon posted on Facebook. 

He said the city government gave the families assistance including family kits, kitchen kits, sleeping kits, food relief and hygiene kits. 

The financial assistance that will be given to them is now being processed. 

The fire was put out at 11:30 p.m., according to the Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management.
