Construction worker arrested for trying to stab man with butcher knife in Malate
The Manila Police District (MPD) reported on Tuesday, Nov. 21, the arrest of a construction worker after he allegedly tried to attack a man using a butcher knife in Malate, Manila on Sunday night, Nov. 19.

The Manila Police District-Malate Police Station (MPD-PS-9) identified the suspect as Henry Cayaban, 52, a resident of Malate.
Based on the investigation, the victim, Joseph Salazar, was having a drinking session with his friends in Barangay 707 in Malate around 9:40 p.m. when the suspect arrived in the area.
For no reason, the suspect suddenly pushed the victim, which resulted in a heated argument between them.
After this, the suspect went home and returned to the area armed with a butcher knife.
The suspect aimed to attack the victim but he was immediately stopped by witness Reynante Jacinto.
Personnel of the Adriatico Police Community Precinct (PCP) responded to the area and arrested the suspect.
Cabayan has been placed under police custody and will face charges for grave threat and possession of bladed weapon.
