Mandaluyong City Mayor Ben Abalos spearheaded the event, together with other city government officials and employees, that included the lighting of its giant Christmas tree display and the opening of the city's Christmas bazaar.

More than  300 stalls have been set up inside and outside the City Hall that will offer products and cuisines to the public.

Abalos said the goal is to give small businesses and entrepreneurs the chance for their produce to be showcased to the public as well as display the talents and skills of Mandaleños.

The Christmas bazaar will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. until January 6 next year. It will also host variety shows every night including a choral singing contest among the 27 barangays of Mandaluyong and a dance contest by the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK).

The city government explained that the Paskuhan sa Tiger City is a much-awaited yearly event for Pasig residents and visitors from other parts of Metro Manila. The annual Paskuhan was started in 2008 by then mayor and now Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos.

It was put on hold in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
