AirAsia PH is 'most punctual' low-cost airline in SEA for October - data
AirAsia Philippines was lauded as the most punctual low-cost airline in the Southeast Asian (SEA) region for the month of October by leading aviation analytics firm Cirium.
According to Cirium's October data, AirAsia ranked fifth among other global low-cost airlines with an 85.20 percent On-Time Performance (OTP) for its 3,432 flights during the month.
It's On-Time Arrival was 85.20 percent and On-Time Departure was 84.66 percent.
In that time, the airline has served more than 630,000 passengers to both domestic and international destinations.
It is the only low-cost SEA region aircraft carrier in the top five ranking, with Safair garnering the first place with an OTP of 90.81 percent, followed by Jetstar Japan with a 86.94 percent OTP, Norwegian Air Shuttle with 86.10 percent OTP, and Iberia Express with 85.69 percent OTP.

AirAsia Malaysia, Thai AirAsia, and Indonesia AirAsia were also included in the top 10 lists for different categories.
AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla noted that the airline's efforts in "maintaining daily tasks such as close coordination with each department to meet the allotted ground time, pushing the early departure of first wave of flights, quick turnaround of all flights, early completion of ground support equipment, and the swift coordination with airport and Air Traffic Control (ATC) offices" all contributed to their positive OTP.
"We would like to ensure the timely departure and arrival of our aircraft with the utmost consideration to safety. For the remaining months of 2023 we are doubling down on our efforts to promptly, safely, and conveniently fly our guests to their families not only in Manila, but also in various provinces in time for the holidays,” he added.
The airline is maintaining its positive OTP through continued cooperation with the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
