Electric fan overheats, starts fire in Sampaloc, Manila
An 89-year-old woman was injured after the electric fan in her home overheated and started a fire in Sampaloc, Manila on Friday morning, Nov. 3.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) identified the victim as Caridal Roldan. She sustained abrasions on her left lower foot and a minor burn on her right knee.
According to the BFP, the fire was raised to the first alarm at 5:48 a.m. and was extinguished at 5:56 a.m.
It said that the fire started on the second floor of an old wooden house owned by Enrico Roldan Salud on Prudencio Street in Sampaloc.
Roldan immediately received medical assistance from the BFP.
Around 11 fire trucks responded to immediately put out the fire.
It said the fire caused around P2,500 worth of damage.
