544K shabu seized in Marikina buy-bust

More than P500,000 worth of illegal drugs was recovered by the Marikina City Police on Tuesday, Oct. 31, the Eastern Police District (EPD) said.

The police identified the suspect as "Igme," 19.

According to the police report, Igme was arrested following a drug buy-bust operation on Mais St. Barangay Tumana, Marikina City after a series of surveillance operations conducted by the Marikina City Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Confiscated from the suspect 13 plastic sachets containing shabu weighing more or less 80 grams and worth P544,000.

Igme was brought to Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center for medical examination and to the Marikina CPS for investigation and proper documentation. The confiscated sachets of shabu were turned over to the EPD Forensic Unit for examination.

The suspect is now detained at the Marikina CPS Custodial Facility. Charges for violation of Art 11 Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165 were filed against him.
