ILOILO CITY – A total of 139,008 tourists visited world-famous Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan last month.

The Malay Tourism Office said October arrivals are 14,517 more than the 124,491 visitors last September.
The number is also higher than the same month last year with 135,252 tourists.
Domestic tourists comprised majority of Boracay visitors a month ago with 107,961, higher by 13,801 than September with 94,160.
More than 300 foreigners visited the island last month.
Twenty-nine thousand, eight-hundred seventeen foreigners trooped to Boracay’s in October, 289 more than the 29,528 two months ago.
The island also had more overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) visitors with 1,230 in October, an increase of 427 from September with 803.
The local government, businesses, and the Department of Tourism (DOT) is expecting an influx of tourists for the last two months of the year, especially the upcoming holiday season.
