Taguig's new barangays covered by no-number coding policy

The Taguig City government said the 10 new barangays under its jurisdiction are covered by all road traffic regulations including the no-number coding policy.

In an advisory, the city government said the new barangays, also known as embo (enlisted men's barrio) barangays, are under the sole jurisdiction of the Taguig Traffic Management Office (TMO).

The 10 barangays were transferred to Taguig following a Supreme Court decision this year.

The new barangays under Taguig are Cembo, Comembo, Pembo, East Rembo, West Rembo, South Cembo, Pitogo, Post Proper Northside, Post Proper Southside and Rizal.

"Dedicated enforcers from Taguig’s Traffic Management Office (TMO) are deployed to manage and ensure smooth traffic flow on major roads within these barangays. TMO is the SOLE deputized unit responsible for enforcing traffic rules in these areas," the city government said.

It warned that the city government “does not recognize tickets issued by unauthorized personnel apprehending individuals in Taguig.”

“If you encounter any non-Taguig traffic enforcer misrepresenting his authority or violating this no-number coding policy, please get his name and report the incident to us via the following channels: I Love Taguig Page; Traffic Management Office-City of Taguig Page; or via TMO Hotline 02-8-6407006 or +639212780569,” the city government added.

It said, “Your reports will enable us to take necessary actions against the unauthorized personnel and uphold the integrity of our enforcement measures.”
